Community Development Block Grant Projects

The Belmont Board of Selectmen will hold two Public Hearings on Wednesday June 17, 2026, at 6:00 pm in the Tioga Meeting Room in the Belmont Mill, 14 Mill St, Belmont. Community Development Block Grant funds are available to municipalities through the NH Community Development Finance Authority. Up to $500,000 annually is available on a competitive basis for public facility projects, up to $500,000 for housing projects, up to $500,000 for economic development projects, and up to $350,000 annually is available for emergency activities. Up to $25,000 is available per planning study. All projects must primarily benefit low- and moderate-income persons. The public hearing will update the public on, and accept public comment on, the following two CDBG Projects:
- A 2020 $500,000 CDBG Public Facilities grant for Lakes Region Community Developers towards renovations to the Gale School building into a daycare and adult life skills center.
- A 2025 up to $210,000 CDBG Economic Development grant for the Boys & Girls Club of Central and Northern New Hampshire to construct a playground at the Gale School building for the new daycare center. The amount of the CDBG is based on the jobs created at the daycare.
