We realize that one of the best ways to prevent a fire or injuries is through education. Through a variety of programs, the Department strives to reduce life and property loss. Belmont Fire Station Tours
The Belmont Fire Department offers tours of its headquarters located at 14 Gilmanton Road for the purpose of increasing safety awareness.
Tour groups are designed for approximately 5—20 people. There must be adequate supervision for children. Firefighters remain ‘in-service’ during tours. Fire companies may need to respond to emergencies. If they do, it will be necessary for the tour to be rescheduled and your group to exit the station. Also, the visit may be cancelled at the last minute with no notification due to emergency response requirements. Please keep this in mind when visiting.
Firefighters have serious work to do. Birthday party groups are welcome to tour the station but may not hold party festivities at the station. However, we can come to your facility (See Firefighter Visits Below)
Fire station tours may be scheduled between the hours of 9:00am—11:00am and 1:00pm—4:00pm, Monday through Sunday. Evening tours are scheduled under special circumstances. Please allow 2 weeks notice to schedule your visit. Station tours last between 20—40 minutes depending on the age group and topics discussed.
Safety discussions and handout materials vary for different age groups. Please specify the number of participants for each age group on tour.
Firefighter Visits
Firefighters can visit your facility for safety education and workplace training.
Facility visits are designed for groups of 10 or more people. If children will be present, an adequate number of chaperones must be present to quickly clear the children from the fire truck or ambulance if there is an emergency. A parking area must be provided where the fire truck or ambulance can get in and out quickly in the event of an emergency.
Firefighters remain ‘in-service’ during visits. Fire companies may need to respond to emergencies. If they do, it will be necessary for the visit to be rescheduled. Also, the visit may be cancelled at the last minute without notification due to emergency response requirements. Please keep this in mind when scheduling.

Home Safety
Upon request of a homeowner, the Belmont Fire Department will visit the residence and provide valuable information and suggestions on how to make their home fire safe.

Fire Extinguisher Training
Upon request of Belmont residents or businesses, firefighters can visit your home or facility for fire extinguisher training. Trainings are designed for small or large groups. Firefighters remain ‘in-service’ during trainings. Fire companies may need to respond to emergencies. If they do, it will be necessary for the training to be rescheduled. Also, the training may be cancelled at the last minute without notification due to emergency response requirements. Please keep his in mind when scheduling.
Trainings may be scheduled between the hours of 9:00am—11:00am and 1:00pm to 4:00pm, 7-days a week. Evening tours are scheduled under special circumstances. Please allow 2 weeks notice to schedule your training. Trainings last between 30 minutes and 2 hours depending on the size of the group being trained.
CPR-First Aid Training
Upon request, firefighters can provide CPR and First Aid trainings. Trainings are designed for 5—20 people. Firefighters remain ‘in-service’ during trainings. Fire companies may need to respond to emergencies. If they do, it will be necessary for the training to be rescheduled. Also, the training may be cancelled at the last minute without notification due to emergency response requirements. Please keep this in mind when scheduling.

Elementary Education Programs
Our on-duty personnel are happy to visit your class and discuss general fire safety and firefighter familiarization with your kids. Our Fire Prevention Department has education programs available for students of all ages.
