Town of Belmont Penstock Gardeners Forming Daily Sun 04/22/15
This project to create a beautiful park and pedestrian resting area commenced in 2011 at the site of the historic penstock - a hydroelectric power-creating water conduit system; which in the early 1900s helped to generate electricity at the Belmont Mill.

The park was beautified in 2011 through the work and donations of many. Benches from the Bemont Rotary and American Legion Post #58 (in memory of Fred Livingstone, past Assistant Chaplain) were placed overlooking the Penstock.

In 2012 excavation related to the Belmont Revitalization project unearthed sections of the 100-year-old Penstock. The Belmont Heritage Commission through the efforts of their "Penstock Preservation Team" were able to relocate the heavy sections to storage while plans are made to incorporate their value into future historic preservation efforts in the Village.
